KAP: Ketamine Assisted Therapy
Ketamine is a medicine with psychedletic properties most often used in treating major depressive disorder, symptoms of suicidalility, and PTSD but has made appearances working with issues like substance use disorders, anxiousness, and OCD. Within the meditative state it produces, many have found it leads to therapeutic breakthroughs at a rate that rarely can be hoped for in traditional talk therapy.
Ketamine sessions are offered in individual and group settings (between 4-8 individuals per group with multiple clinicians present), requiring medical clearance from a prescribing physician. Research suggests six ketamine sessions in a three week period is needed for efficacy in symptom reduction and neurodevelopment.
Integrated Trauma Informed Therapy
No one is immune to the far-reaching effects of trauma. Whether it is a negative belief about yourself that you learned in childhood, or a singular event that continues to impact your sense of safety and autonomy, trauma affects individuals, families, and the stability of a community when untreated. Increasing the sense of empowerment, self-worth, and processing through the mental, physical and emotion wounding helps the way we interact within ourselves, our relationships, and our communities. At New Springs, we bring together various trauma-informed approaches founded in attachment theory, neuroscience, and the latest research in helping clients find healing.
“As long as you keep secrets and suppress information, you are fundamentally at war with yourself…The critical issue is allowing yourself to know what you know. That takes an enormous amount of courage.”
- Bessel van der Kolk
