TRAUMA INFORMED THERAPY
No one is immune to the far-reaching effects of trauma. Whether it is a negative belief about yourself that you learned in childhood, or a singular event that continues to impact your sense of safety and autonomy, trauma affects individuals, families, and the stability of a community when untreated. Increasing the sense of empowerment, self-worth, and processing through the mental, physical and emotion wounding helps the way we interact within ourselves, our relationships, and our communities.
“As long as you keep secrets and suppress information, you are fundamentally at war with yourself…The critical issue is allowing yourself to know what you know. That takes an enormous amount of courage.”
- Bessel van der Kolk
Our family attachments have a profound impact on our mental and physical wellbeing. Too often we unknowingly repeat the cycles of our upbringing, yet it is possible to identify the unhealthy patterns and begin to write a new story for you and your family. Learn how heal hurts and connect on a deeper level with your loved ones.
Being in relationship is the most rewarding and often the most painful experience in this life. If you believe that you are out of chances, the damage and the disconnection too gaping, and the path forward unclear: know that you are not alone and there is always hope.
I look forward to hearing your story and help you to authentically live out the most rewarding relationships in your life.
Pre-marital/newlywed groups as well as a trauma survivor groups are offered. Group therapy provides a unique space to learn, grow, connect, and be challenged in ways that may be lost in individual session. These opportunities are seasonal and based on interest; please email to be informed of the next start date.
